Mute is a command that can only be done by members. You have to be
logged into the server for it to work, it will not work if you’re still
“anonymous” or are using a different handle on the server. You
cannot mute a fellow member either.

The purpose of mute and what it does:

However, malcontented persons may feel obligated to fill the console endlessly with spammed messages, or to spout un-[Low Calibrism](https://forum.lowcaliber.com/t/low-caliber/2431)s for whatever abusive reason.

What this command allows you to do is “mute” such a person and allow the other people in the server to continue enjoying themselves.

In the situation above, if Brutus was mouthing off you would enter the
command Mute 4.

Don’t forget to use much care with this command. Although an excellent sanction against [wife](https://forum.lowcaliber.com/t/wife/2464)-ish proclamations and diction, this does not mean [wife](https://forum.lowcaliber.com/t/wife/2464)-ish censorship is to be practised.
