While this server is, as I said, a noble gesture, I’m afraid all it really achieves is a cry out for chaos and idiots. I admire your effort to make an honorable and friendly environment where duelists can learn and play by honor, but by making such an environment, it calls for actions very similar to terrorism. EVERY single time I log onto the server nowadays, there are at LEAST 3 or 4 idiots trough killing, chat killing, back-stabbing, interrupting duels, and/or swearing their little mouths off at the rest of the players. To think there are people out there that get their sick enjoyment out of ruining such a place disturbs me, and makes me rethink how far we’ve come as a civilization. As time goes by, the number of idiots will rise until eventually everyone will refer to Low Caliber as “that lamer server”. While I commend you on your noble effort, Unter, it’s just asking to fail.
I guess that trouble is gone to far; so I request for some statement to my idea:
Whats about a password? I mean we could say that the weekend the server is password protected and on the week we let it open. So we can found new honorable players and still “teach” the lamers and also have a time to meet our friends and members. There players, that we know about that they are honorable, we could ask them for their email (I would do that) and than we can mail them the password. So we have a fair solution I would say.
Pls react all here and tell what you think about this. I guess we only can survive the chaos, if we take a messure and this is in my eyes a fair compromise.
LoL you shouldn’t be worried about it being full. You’re better of not playing in it at all. Logged in today and 7/8 players were total idiots (Nutt98 leading them all). Before when I said that it might become known as “that lamer server”, I think it’s very just to say that it has BECOME that lamer server.
Thanks for your message; I intended the server strictly as a public service and that it should be a faithful reflection of Nature, that is, the set of all idiots or lofty ones that make up Runedom. As far as an “honorable” server is concerned, it is the somewhat charming project of your own who have made this community your own. I know that the Trough is stubborn; and so I ignore it.
WINTERMOON: as secretary, one of the tasks is “setting up a weekly or bi-weekly club night.” On this night: put one up one the calendar, and find a time compatible for Americans and Europeans, the server will be exclusively for us. On Club Night I will indeed permit a password closure of the Server for our own pleasure. It remains to take the initiative and establish the time: say Friday or Saturday afternoon American time, which would be Fri. or Sat. evening European time.
I propose therefore 6-9 PM (18:00-21:00) EST, which is (0:00 - 3:00) German time this Friday for our first Club Night. Comments, objections here.
LOL no Im again the man, who has done something false or at least not as you want. What the thing with the time is concerning, thats nearly impossible for me I guess to do that reguarly. That time 1-3 and on friday will be most of the weeks for me at least impossible; because often I have some minilans with friends or Im out in the city. The other thing is; sorry for that, I havent the clue which time the americans have and so on. So I see some little problems …
But anyway I tried to look if I can come in. Maybe you should reconsider me in that position. And I say it again, we need to do something against the lamers; just saying that we have this project will not really help, I guess.
Im still on your side Unter and I think that the idea of the shard is still possible to come true; but to get the most honorable players satisfied and that all have fun again, we need to do something. I dont think I have the best idea made, but I guess it is at least one solution against the chaos …
Erm, sorry haven’t understood you message first clearly. Sure I will do as best as I can, but I think nonetheless that we should get rid of the lamers; because on that Tournament night we wanna make a tournament and in the week the most people will want to “train” and “practice”. So we should rethink about that!
