Hey guys.. I found two Runers that were interested in our clan… I asked for their email addresses so I could send them details.. Just wondering what I should send them…
just for the record, one is [email removed], and the other is [email removed] , who goes by the Rune handle, Lord WinterMoon (can’t remember the other guy’s)
Ah LordWintermoon, know the guy. I like him: but I always tell him to follow up on his taunts. Sometimeshe’lkl taunt me and Ill be the shit out of him miserably. Is he good with the small caliber?
So here’s the deal with the membership: either we give the guys an email straight away, inviting them to the message board, or we wait until our Club night and give them a trial by fire. Just because I’ve seen and played with wintermoon i might give him my vote of confidence straight away.
And Aegus: if you look under Member Tools, Invite Others to Join, there’s a form there for inviting others to the forum which looks like the email you received.
A word of caution, though: we should send this out to people we’re sure we want on the board. Alternatively, we could draft an e-mail inviting them to Club night for a trial by fire.
But in this case, tell you what: send an invitation to Lord_Weathermoon, because I like and know the guy (although he could still use some fundamental work, I think), and get some more info on the other, and we’ll evaluate him. Are either of these guys proficient in the Low Caliber weapons, and do they understand the Precepts of Club: first two degrees of each weapon class?
No, no, no. Tell you what: we’ll send Lord_Weatherspoon a copy of the Constitution. If he’s in accord with our Precepts, he can forgo the trial by fire and step on if he has your approval as well. Would be good the let the Chief have a look at him, too.
Alternatively, Aegus, and this is important: we could draw a distinction between who’s on the message board and who’s in the club: i.e. keep a seperate member list. This way it’s easy: we’ll send an e-mail to join to each prospective member: they can come and have a look at the constitution, get to know the guys: and be informed of their Trial by fire. Yes let’s do this: send the boys an Invitation, tell them to have a look at the constitution, and we’ll inform them of a trial at club night.
Yeah that’s fine. Proceed how you think is appropriate.
But before we talk about trial night give them a chance to have a look at our web page: use the Member Tools, Invite Others to Join thing I was talking about. There you can fill in whatever you want: like, “just confirming th email” or whatever.
If they come on board we’ll fill them in the “Current Members” list, a separate process.
By the way: dropped all three kids an Invitation to the page with this:
Thanks for interest in the Low Caliber Club; come on by our web page and check us out. You’re also invited to our first Club night when the server’s up for a little trial by fire.
Something simple should probably do it. But for future reference, just follow the instructions I posted earlier.
First, I’d just like to say welcome aboard, LordWintermoon. Best of luck with your trial.
Also, I for one, like the idea of sending an invitation to potential members, and making the distinction between those who are in the club, and those who are simply ‘on the board’, then, initiating those on the board (should they so choose to be tried). Makes things a lot easier in my opinion.
If it’s ok with you guys, that’s how I’ll go about reqruiting from now on- sending invitations.
and it looks like we’re approaching the base of players we need to host our tournament. We need to pick four solid players for a team in the coming weeks. Out of, hopefully, six or seven.
